The Situate application provides detailed information about visitor attractions integrated within the platform, offering users convenient access to a comprehensive range of content.

As new attractions are incorporated into the Situate platform, they are automatically displayed within the app, ensuring users have immediate access to the latest additions without incurring any charges.

The app is equipped with Bluetooth Beacon and GPS capabilities. For attractions utilizing beacon technology or GPS, content is delivered automatically as users navigate through the venue. Importantly, access to this content does not require being physically present within the venue boundaries.

Furthermore, the application employs GPS and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to determine user location even when running in the background. Notifications are triggered when users approach a designated venue. The implementation prioritizes power efficiency by restricting BLE scans to when proximity to a venue is detected. Nevertheless, prolonged background GPS use may significantly impact battery life, a common consideration for location-based applications.

Audio content played through the app continues seamlessly in background mode if initiated prior to minimization, and users can control playback using their device’s standard media controls.

For venues that have configured specific GPS locations for content delivery, the app features an interactive map that marks all points of interest. Users can tap on these markers to access relevant content directly, with their current position clearly indicated for enhanced orientation.
